MW Guitars is a specialist guitar workshop based in Chichester, West Sussex. I take pride in offering professional-level work for guitar setups and guitar repairs for Bass guitars, Electric guitars, and Acoustic guitars.

Personal service is something that is very important to me and I take great pride in it. Every single guitar is tailored to the player's exact needs. Whether that be a heavy-handed and powerful blues player or a light-handed and technical shredder, I achieve the perfect playability for that player's style and needs. I also ensure our customers are kept up to date every step of the way by giving updates and photos as the work on their instruments is being carried out. This is to not only keep customers informed of what stage their guitar is at but also I think it is key to help customers feel a part of what is being done to their instruments.

I offer a wide range of guitar services such as guitar Setup, Fret Polish, Re-Fret, Handmade Bone Nut, Handmade Acoustic Saddles, Custom Wiring Harness, Part Installation, Modification, Restoration, Damage repair, and more. These are all carried out to a professional standard, whether it be a Fender Custom Shop, a Vintage Instrument, or a lower end, Squier. They all receive the same high level of work and perfection is always the number one priority.

I started playing guitar around the age of 8 and it wasn't long until I had my first guitar in pieces on the floor to try and figure out exactly how it worked. Of course at that age, I didn't figure out exactly how it all worked but more importantly I learned all of the parts of the guitar and how to put it back together! This was my first experience with working on a guitar and it started my intrigue with the instrument itself and not just playing it.

Fast forward a few years and I was a lot more confident around the instrument after doing a lot of research on basic tasks such as cleaning and hydrating fingerboards and levelling out floating tremolos, along with very rudimentary setup skills. I began working on guitars belonging to friends of mine to broaden my knowledge base by working on different guitars instead of just my own Strat!

My journey in the world of Professional Luthiery began with an apprenticeship with Dave Walsh at Eternal Guitars in 2015. It was here that I learned and practiced guitar making, repair, and maintenance. We offered pretty much any service a Guitar or Bass player could need, so it was an amazing opportunity to learn every single aspect of the guitar. From standard Setups, to Hand-wound pickups to Nitrocellulose Re Finishes and much more.

After completing my 5-year apprenticeship, my time at Eternal Guitars came to a close, and shortly afterwards, I began my own Professional Luthiery company, MW Guitars.
