Does my acoustic guitar need a Handmade Bone Saddle? 

A Handmade Bone Saddle is an excellent and affordable upgrade for any acoustic guitar. Most guitars come with Plastic / Synthetic saddles which are incredibly poor quality and restrict the guitar from playing to its full potential. Plastic / Synthetic saddles are a very soft material that is often injection molded and even hollow on the inside! The saddle is one of the most important parts of an acoustic guitar and a poor quality saddle often leads to issues such as poor tuning stability, muffled tone and they wear out quickly which causes rattling on the open strings.

What is a Handmade Bone Saddle? 

A Hand Made saddle is a completely handmade and custom saddle made from a solid piece of dense Bone. Bone is by far the best material for acoustic guitar saddles and offers superior tuning stability, tonal transfer, resonance, and longevity. That's why it was used on guitars from the 50's and 60's which is considered the golden era of guitar making, or on some very high-end modern guitars such as Fender Custom Shop Instruments. 

 
What does a Handmade Bone Saddle Include? 

- Initial carving from a solid block of Bone to the rough final shape of the saddle

- Carving of either a traditional straight edge or intonated curve

- Final adjustments to sizing to ensure a perfect fit into the saddle slot

- Fine sanding of the saddle

- Installation of the saddle into the saddle slot
