While joining Enter Shikari on their 2021 Tour with Nova Twins supporting, guitarist Rory Clewlow got chatting with me about my workshop-based luthiery. After a few late-night chats on the tour bus, Rory asked me to take his main Fender Telecaster back to the workshop for some upgrade and maintenance work. He then mentioned this to bass player Chris Batten, who quickly decided to also send me a pair of his Music Man Basses to work on.

Rory had noticed the Luminlay position markers which I have installed on Nova Twins guitars and basses, and quickly decided he needed them! Too many times have the stage lights gone black between songs, and you just can't see where your hands are for the starting note of the next song. Luminlay position markers are a passive luminescent replacement that charge from UV light and then emit a bright glowing light for up to a few hours.

As well as installing Liminlay position markers, I also gave all of the instruments some maintenance work. Both the 4-string and 5- string Music Man Basses received Handmade Bone Nuts and a Setup with Fret Polish to get them playing smoother than ever. And the Telecaster also received a Handmade Bone Nut, but also a Fret Dress & Setup with Fret Polish to address some fret wear and a slight twist in the neck.

The instruments are now back with Rory and Chris, tearing up stages all over the world
